Utah Wedding Photography

Frequently Asked Questions

What is your style of photography?
We use a mix of traditional/formal photography with a photojournalistic approach. Capturing all of the details that you have so carefully coordinated as well as documenting the events of your day are just as important to us as the traditional "posed" portraits of you and your friends and family. During your consultation we will discuss your unique style. Our goal will be to create photographs that will be timeless that you can cherish for the rest of your life.

Should I choose a photographer based on price alone?
While choosing a photographer within your budget is important there are many things to consider. Your photographer may be the one vendor you spend the most time with on your wedding day. You will want to be at ease knowing you picked someone you will feel comfortable with. This will show in your portraits. We would love to set up a consultation to get to know you. We are competitively priced and will work within your budget to create portraits and albums that will last long after your day is over.

How many images will you take?
We are 100% digital. This means we do not charge by the roll of film and are free to take as many pictures as we can during your event. We don't limit ourselves by giving you a set number. In the event that you purchase a CD containing all of your images and there are too many to fit on one you will receive as many disks as it takes.

When are bridal portraits typically taken?
Bridal portraits should be taken at least 4 weeks in advance, if possible. This will assure that you will have your portraits back in time to display at your reception. A separate bridal portrait session will ensure that you will have beautifully perfect portraits of you in your dress. Your wedding day will probably be hectic and full of surprises. Your mother and/or close friends are invited to your bridal portrait session to assist you with your dress, flowers, hair and veil, as well as being there to provide support. We suggest that you ask your florist to make a bouquet especially for your pictures. However, an inexpensive alternative is to bring just a bunch of your favorite flowers with you. This will enhance your portraits. We also have a variety of silk bouquets available. Please let us know in advance if we need to bring them.

Will my friends and family be able to take pictures as well?
Of course they will! In fact they are invited to. This is, of course, your special day, but it is theirs as well. Sometimes taking formal pictures quickly will be important in order to get you to your reception on time. All we ask is that your guests shoot as quickly as we do and not hold us or you up. However, this is usually not a problem.

Will the pictures be touched up?
Yes! We believe this is one of the most important parts of our service to you. Raw digital images aren't finished. We take time color correcting, cropping and editing each picture individually. Your online gallery will contain completely finished images. If you choose to purchase the high resolution disk it will also contain completely finished images ready to print at your favorite lab.

How will I receive my proofs?
All of your edited images will be put in an online gallery for you and your friends and family to view. This gallery will stay up for 3 months. You may also purchase a cd containing the gallery.

Do you travel?
We shoot weddings in all of Northern Utah (including Utah county). There are no travel fees. We apologize but at this time we will not be available for weddings taking place in Southern Utah or out of the state. As much as we love photographing weddings our young family comes first. We know you will understand and we can recommend other photographers we respect that are available for extended travel.

What is a magazine-style album?
This style of album offers a lot of versatility. It is flush mount, which means we can create two page panoramic spreads. These albums are individually custom designed. There are many options and many different styles of albums. If you choose a magazine-style album we will meet with you to discuss how you want your album laid out and what pictures you would like included. The album is created digitally and you will have a chance to view it before it is printed. You may also purchase a CD with all of your album pages on it to print or to email.

How do I reserve my date?
A $200 deposit is required to hold your wedding date. This is a non-refundable fee because we will be holding this date especially for you. The balance must be paid in full 2 weeks prior to your wedding.
